Carey Ascenzo lives in Brooklyn and works in Long Island City, New York. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence with a BFA in sculpture and a concentration in art history in 2000.

In 2009, she exhibited Care at SculptureCenter in Long Island City, New York, as part of the In Practice project series for contemporary sculpture. Ascenzo has also exhibited at Smack Mellon, Brooklyn and Parallel Projects at the New York Design Center, New York.
