Kasper Akhøj holds an MFA (2006) from Städelschule, Frankfurt and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen. Currently, he is participating in the Whitney Independent Study Program.

Akhøj was recently an Artist in Residence at CAPACETE entertainments in Rio de Janeiro. Recent exhibitions include the 28th Bienal de São Paulo; the 3rd Guangzhou Triennial; We Know The Taste But Not The Smell, Galerie Baer, Dresden; and Lost Highway, Skuc Galerija, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
