Lisa Sigal’s large scale paintings play off of architecture and between the literal and illusion. Her most recent solo show was at Frederieke Taylor gallery, New York, where she exhibited Tent Paintings, a show of structures built with wallpaper and paint. Sigal’s work was included in the 2008 Whitney Biennial. Recent group shows include Make It Now, Sculpture Center, New York and The Orpheus Selection, PS1 Contemporary Art Center, Long Island City. She also has an upcoming commission for the New Museum of Contemporary Art this fall.
Born in 1962, Sigal received a BFA from Tyler/Temple University and an MFA from Yale University School of Art. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn.
