Fritz Haeg works between his architecture and design practice (Fritz Haeg Studio), the happenings of Sundown Schoolhouse, the ecology initiatives of Gardenlab and his role as an educator. He studied architecture at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia in Italy and at Carnegie Mellon University, where he received his BArch. He has exhibited work at the Tate Modern; the Whitney Museum of American Art; Mass MoCA; the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia; and the Netherlands Architecture Institute, Maastricht, among others. His Animal Estates series debuted at the 2008 Whitney Biennial with a commissioned installation in front of the museum.
