Sara VanDerBeek was born in Baltimore in 1976. She received a BFA from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in 1998. Her work has appeared in numerous solo and group exhibitions both in the United States and abroad, most recently showing at Frieze Art Fair in London, Gallery 400 at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Art Forum Berlin in Berlin, and a solo exhibition entitled Mirror in the Sky at D’Amelio Terras in New York. She has also been recognized in MOUSSE, Artreview, W, and Artforum. VanDerBeek currently lives and works in New York.
