Trained as an architect at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and Ecole d’Architecture de Paris – Vals de Seine (formerly Vals de Marne), Raylene Gorum fashions fictionalized urban settings by applying layers of tape, watercolor, silkscreen ink, and collaged materials onto translucent Mylar drafting film. She lives and works in New York City, where she also runs the design firm Sweet 101. Her sketchbooks were most recently exhibited at the London Book Fair and she has forthcoming solo shows at ArtEngine in San Francisco and Rowan Morrison Gallery in Oakland this October.
