Mika Tajima was born in 1975 in Los Angeles and currently lives and works in New York. Tajima received a BA from Bryn Mawr College in 1997 and an MFA from Columbia University’s School of the Arts in 2003. She has exhibited widely at institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art (Whitney Biennial 2008), New York; The Kitchen, New York; Ballroom Marfa; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Reykjavik Art Museum; Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid; PS1 Contemporary Art Center, Long Island City; and the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, among many others. Tajima is a founding member of New Humans.
