Born in 1977, Melanie Schiff lives and works in Chicago. She received her MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a BFA from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Schiff has had solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Kavi Gupta Gallery, Chicago; and Galerie Haus Schneider, Uschi Kolb, Karlsruhe, Germany. This year, she was included in the Whitney Biennial 2008, and her work was also seen in Sympathy for the Devil: Art and Rock and Roll Since 1967, originating at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. Her photographs are in the collections of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.
