New York-based painter Margaret Evangeline has long experimented with aesthetically resistant material, using gun-shot and mirror-polished stainless steel. Evangeline received her MFA from the University of New Orleans in 1978. Solo exhibitions in 2007 included Stux Gallery in New York, Heriard-Cimino Gallery in New Orleans, and the Rose Art Museum in Waltham, Massachusetts. This year, Evangeline is creating a site-specific installation for the River Thames in London on a barge across from the Tate Modern, and will have a solo exhibition at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans. A monograph is forthcoming this fall.
