Grant Innes was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1962 and currently lives and works in New York and Paris. He holds Bachelor degrees from Concordia and Dalhousie Univeristies in cinema and history, respectively. Innes’ fusion of historical and contemporary creates a tension and a dialogue that resonate with current geopolitical issues; his 2005 move to New York from Canada had a strong impact on his current work. Innes has recently shown work in both the United States and Canada, including at the Art Now Fair this past December in Miami.
